Comments and questions from the AVANT group at the ordinary plenary meeting on 31 January 2024
Regarding the approval of previous minutes, we state that we cannot approve that of 8/2023 because our interventions are not recorded. We also do not approve 9/2023 because we were not provided with all the documentation in advance, which is why at the time we abstained from voting on the non-admission of the appeal lodged by the Xaló Town Council.
The secretary tells us that she will not accept questions that have not been submitted in advance.
We take this opportunity to ask again that the plenary meetings be recorded, as is already done in many localities, such as neighbouring Senija. Mr Mayor replies that “here” there have been those who have recorded with their mobile phones. I say that it is a public event, although I do not understand his argument.

We wish to inform you that AVANT's appeal is now following its legal course.
Regarding the Christmas campaign, we asked about the level of satisfaction with the system analysed and whether they had checked with the retailers about it. The response was limited to the comment that the retailers would have liked it to have lasted longer.
Likewise, we are interested in the latest grant for self-employed people and SMEs, which seems to have been well received. However, we insist that it is important to ensure that the information reaches all interested parties.
As for the building permits, we consider that those seeking to build houses and a swimming pool on the PAI MEDINA site are unacceptable, because the legal situation has not been resolved and, therefore, we will challenge them.
Let's return to the matter. Regarding the precautionary suspension of the collector works, the mayor insists on the merits of these works and the benefits they would bring to the residents of the Cutes, who could connect to it. We reply that, regardless of this, that is not the objective; what is clear is that it is not the purpose of the work funded by the PAI's construction company.
We also exchange views on the water issue: the mayor again insists on the existence of the well, and I remind him that they still do not have the necessary authorisation from the Xúquer Hydrographic Confederation.
We insist that they wait until everything has been resolved before starting construction. We get no response.
We vote against the dismissal of the appeal by the Town Council of Alcanalí.
We vote in favour of the report-proposal on urban planning legality presented by Mr Gordon Finlay. We ask how the situation stands with the other affected parties. We are told that many are already in an advanced resolution process and that there is a possibility of holding an extraordinary council meeting to vote on the resolution.
In the questions and answers section we request information about the Marnes wall file in plot 10. We are told that there is an open file.
We also asked if there is any special forest protection plan for the Muntanyeta. It seems not, but they are willing to look into it.
We end up insisting on the need for a campaign to improve waste management habits, to make proper use of the eco-park and avoid shameful fly-tipping, to make it easier for people to access it by using the pickup truck if necessary… The response is that there are already designated days for taking furniture or old junk to the eco-park.
